Going Public – 2 days and counting down

We are very eager to be on our way to San Francisco…last night we had a great rehearsal…learned a new dance number and a Song of Blessing that we will share as many times as possible.  Lori Erwin guided us through our Quiet Time materials and led us in a “practice” QT, based on the materials that she wrote for us.  Each team met together and made lots of progess in being prepared for their individual tasks.  Tonight’s training will include becoming acquainted with the Share Jesus Without Fear evangelism approach and each student will receive a small New Testament that they will mark with the plan of salvation.  We will also have a guest speaker who will talk about “homelessness.”  On our trip, we will spend some ministry time in the Tenderloin District and encounter many homeless and disadvantaged people.  We want some insight on how to minister to them.  God continues to answer prayers that are meeting individual needs and we feel very blessed to have the opportunitiy to share those with each other.  Our biggest prayer concern right now is for Mike Pierpoint’s health.  We really need him on this trip…to provide leadership and  encouragement for the whole group and direction for our evangelism team.  We are praying that God gives him SPEEDY healing.  We trust God to provide His best for us all.

We had a great training time last night. Michael was there – had a bad cough but he was able to give us instruction on Sharing Jesus without fear. We’re all excited about heading out tomorrow morning. Continue to pray for us!

Mike had a great message and we were also lucky to have a speaker (Leonard) come discuss how to deal with and love the homeless. It was a great night, we all left with new insight and wisdom to take on the trip!
